Your Mental Health is Important

Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious? Are you looking for help just to get through the week?

The Mental Health Clinic offers support for wellbeing and mental health for the SCC community through individual and group therapy, psychoeducational groups, workshops, and medication assistance.

Our goal is to enhance each individual's ability to learn, and to be fully participating members of the SCC college community by utilizing safe, culturally sensitive and inclusive approaches to mental health treatment. Some students come only once or twice to discuss something that concerns them, while others may require more ongoing care. All students are allowed 10 free therapy sessions over the course of their time at SCC.

Counseling/Therapy may focus on the following areas:

  • Adjustment issues
  • Alcohol/substance use/abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Compulsions and obsessions
  • Depression
  • Eating concerns/body issues
  • Family issues
  • Grief/loss
  • Identity exploration
  • Loneliness
  • Relationship issues
  • Self-esteem
  • Stress
  • Trauma
  • Other mental health issues

The clinic is also the home base for intern therapists. If you are an SCC student, you can click on the appointment links below to make an appointment directly with the Mental Health Interns listed or come into, or call the clinic to set up an appointment (509-533-8611/Main line for Health Clinic and Mental Health Clinic).
