This is a time in history that will forever change our lives and our society as we know it; in the middle of a global health pandemic, we are painfully reminded that historical oppression and racism continue to plague our nation. But, in this moment of pain that our community is experiencing, each of us has the power to ensure that from this pain will emerge positive, lasting change. As an educational institution, we have an obligation to ensure that we create safe spaces for authentic and difficult conversations to take place. Such conversations likely won't feel comfortable, and frankly they shouldn't.
-excerpt from SCC Diversity, Equity and Global Awareness Committee statement

To aid in the conversation, we have composed a list of resources found at Spokane Community College, in Spokane, and in the media; to provide multiple ways to learn and support our community and students.
